International Paralympic Committee

As the World Para Alpine Skiing Social Media Coordinator at the Beijing 2022 Paralympics I created content for the World Para Snow Sports accounts, covering the Para alping skiing competition live from the Yanqing National Alpine Skiing Centre. As the World Para Swimming Social Media Coordinator at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics I created content for the World Para Swimming accounts, covering the Para swimming competition live from the Tokyo Aquatics Centre. At both Paralympics, I posted live updates, photo highlights, athlete interviews and more on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook with the goal of engaging new followers and amplifying each sport. I worked on the World Para Sports media team, collaborating with other social media coordinators. My work also involved updating daily schedule and medal table graphics, identifying daily top moments for the creation of highlight videos, and extensive background research on athletes and events.

As the Para Ice Hockey Social Media Coordinator at the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympics, I created content for the World Para Ice Hockey accounts, covering the Para ice hockey event live from Gangneung Hockey Centre. I posted live updates on Twitter and Instagram (using Instagram stories), created Twitter polls leading up to games, and took creative photos, boomerangs and videos for posting on all of the World Para Ice Hockey social media accounts. These included videos using footage shot in mixed zone interviews (such as this one), athlete photos taken using a Twitter mirror, and a series of Facebook Live interviews.

While working with the IPC in 2016, I helped create content for the World Para Ice Hockey, World Para Nordic Skiing, World Para Alpine Skiing and World Para Snowboard social media accounts (the World Para Nordic Skiing, World Para Alpine Skiing, and World Para Snowboard accounts have since been conglomerated as World Para Snow Sports). This involved creating a social media content plan for the 2016-17 winter sports season, arranging athlete social media takeovers, creating social media campaigns for the different sports, and more.

Curl BC

As the Curl BC Communications and Marketing Manager, I ran the organization’s three social media accounts. This involved covering Curl BC’s championship events (i.e. live tweeting, Instagram stories, photo album updates), sharing news releases and articles, connecting with sponsors and partners, answering questions about Curl BC events and programs, sharing the successes of Curl BC’s member facilities and high performance teams, and more.

My focus was on creating more visual content for posting on the Curl BC social media accounts, which included holiday graphics, BC Curling Tour standings graphics, BC Championship countdown graphics, BC Championship standings graphics, and a range of other special graphics meant to spark an increase in interest in and/or registration for different events, such as this one and this one.

Vancouver Female Ice Hockey Association

As the Vancouver Female Ice Hockey Association (VFIHA) Director of Community Engagement, I run the association’s three social media accounts. Posts are geared towards parents, players and alumni, with post topics ranging from team accomplishments to coach profiles to on and off ice opportunities for female hockey players. I increased the number of Facebook followers by over 14% within my first three months running the account, and quickly gained a steady number of Instagram followers shortly after creating the Instagram account in summer of 2018.

VACFSS

While working with VACFSS (Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society), I helped increase their Facebook followers by 47% by creating unique posts geared towards a targeted demographic. I also used Facebook and Twitter to help market the 2015 National Aboriginal Day at Trout Lake event, which was attended by thousands of people.
